How it Works Magazine

The magazine group of titles, "How it Works" had a relaunch with a format geared towards children studying Key Stage 2. It is called History of the World and is quite expensive at £6.99, but it is a lovely magazine. The editor decided to run three launch competitions on Twitter. For each competition you had to buy the magazine and take a "selfie" in various places. A selfie outside Asda and you could enter to win tickets to Disneyland Paris, outside Sainsburys and you could win a helicopter drone gadget, or a selfie at a famous monument and you could win £200 of books. A Compers News reader entered the last two competitions, and contacted me when she couldn't get a response regarding winner notification. I could see from the Twitter feed that there were five entries for the Sainsburys competition and only one for the book competition. Our reader had taken a selfie at the Cenotaph. I managed to get hold of the editor, who told me that there had been no entries for the book competition! Finally, our reader was declared the winner of both the drone and book competition.
