Father's Day is Coming - WIN £50 Red Letter Day Vouchers! (CLOSED)

Hello everyone!  Welcome to my first blog for Compers News, I am very pleased to meet you all and look forward to chatting with you all on Chatterbox (my username is KirstyComperGreer)!

Well, Summer is almost upon us, and the World Cup is looming on the horizon!  But before all of that, on Sunday 15th June 2014 we get to celebrate all the Father Figures in our lives.  For some of us this could be our actual birth father, for some of us a step-father, a grandfather, an uncle, a close family friend or our own husbands and partners and fathers of our children!  It could even be our mother, who for some has taken on the role of father as well as mother.  There are so many people in our lives who help, support, encourage and nurture us and I think Father’s Day is a great time to remember to recognise their efforts on this special day.

There are always lots of Father’s Day competitions around this time of year, so not to be left out we have decided to run our OWN competition this year!  We are offering all our lovely members the chance to win £50 in Red Letter Day Vouchers for the Father Figure in your life!  All you need to do to enter is to leave me a comment below and let us know who in your life deserves a treat.  Again, this doesn’t have to be your actual father or your children’s father, just someone who you think deserves to be recognised and given a nice surprise.

Terms and Conditions

My dad would be delighted to win

My lovely Dad totally deserves a nice surprise treat. He always thinks of others before himself and helps out my brother and myself whatever it takes. It would be great to be able to get him something awesome for Fathers' Day from Red Letter Days!

I'd like to nominate my OH who is just wonderful and supportive to me and my chidlren. He is more of a dad to them than my ex, he is just wonderful! :-)

I would like to win for my brother in law-who is the father figure in the family for four generations of us women-so he has a lot to put up with !

My Mum has not been well for 8 weeks now and has been put on 'hospital at home' During that time, my Dad has helped to look after her and has tried to do everything in his power to make sure she gets better. He really deserves a treat.

Sadly my Dad and my husbands dad are no longer here to be treated on Fathers Day. My husband John is a great Dad to our three not so little children, he is very generous and caring and deserves a Fathers Day treat.

I would like to nominate my hubby Rich. Not only is he a great Dad to our two children, but also my best friend! He has especially been supported during the past few weeks as I've been made redundant. Thank you.

My OH deserves a special treat because he is always there for us and never complains about my mad comping plans!

My husband who is a dad & new granddad to two gorgeous little people. He is our rock, worked hard renovating our two girls houses in his spare time, making lovely homes for them. Continuing on with everything even when his beloved Mum died last year. He is always happy & supportive to us all.

I lost my Dad aged 48 when i was 15 and helped my Mum through it after been on her own for 6 years i fixed her up on a blind date with a work colleagues father in law Peter who had lost his wife they hit it off really well and are just about to celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary, he is such a wonderful Man who has supported me and my family over the years and bent over backwards to help out in any way he can, My two girls adore him i really think my Dad sent him to look after us and what a fantastic replacement he has been. love him to bits :)

I would like to nominate my dad to treat. At 84 (and still with a village paper round) he has inspired me to keep going in life, keeping active, and being grateful for health and happiness

Thanks for the comp! My Dad is the hardest working guy I know!

Through thick and thin my Dad is a rock. Shouting at me as a young driver for getting a parking ticket (but secretly paying the fine) to driving through the night to rescue me from grotty student digs a million miles away from home, he's always in my corner, always my go-to guy. xx

my oh is used as taxi service most days, picking my daughter up from work, at six in the morning!! think he deserves a little treat

I'd love to treat my husband, poor man is surrounded by girls & puts up with so much!

Id like to nominate my other half. Our family has the most difficult year with a very close bereavement. My partner has been our rock, using this weeks competition wins of a fish tank and a jigsaw as prizes to cheer us up. I think its their turn for a surprise. Fingers crossed xx

I'd like to nominate my husband - I really couldn't wish for a better father to my kids and they are amazingly lucky to have him!

My husband for looking after me and my daughter, he deserves a treat i think!

My husband is a wonderful Dad, with his own daughter and my son - he treats them both the same with patience, love and always makes time for them. That's the most important bit.

I would like to nominate my Mum, who has sort of been my Dad too after he died 10 years ago..... She is amazing, though not quite so good at the advice about DIY or the Car!

Sadly my gorgeous Dad is no longer with us so i guess it would have to be for the next best thing in my life, my husband Kevin as he has been there for me in sickness and in Health as he helped me through my battle with cancer. so i think he deserves a treat :)

I would like win this for my husband John who is a wonderful dad. Our son as mild learning difficulties and so school life as been as stressful as anything. Our son is just about to finish his exams this week so I finally feel that we have reached the finishing line and I couldn't have done this on my own. So thankyou to my husband for everything.

I would nominate my husband to win, he would be thrilled and it might go some way to brighten his day when he rises for work at 3am even on Father's Day. While I've been unwell he has gone off to work and returned after a long day and prepared a meal for us and then early to bed to get up very early and do it all again.

Dad's the best! he deserves to win!,
No sob stories, or, tug of heart strings,
Just a hard working, cheerful man,
For his family doing everything he can,
Puts his wife , and, kid's first every time,
Never moans, even when life gives him a mountain to climb,
We all adore his quick wit,
Dad!!..xx.. you're simply loved to bits!

My husband, a great father to my boys, a loving husband
and a great friend who's always there to help (He even completes my Compers News puzzles when I'm stuck!

My husband, he has to put up with me and my obsession of doing competitions every day. what a nice surprise it would be if he could have the joy of winning.

Probably my other half for putting up with me ;)

I would love to win this for my husband. He is such a fantastic dad to our 3 year old and 7 month old and he works so hard he really deserves a treat to say thank you.

This competition is now CLOSED! Thanks so much for all your brilliant entries, winner chosen tomorrow! Kirsty x
