Lucky winners from the pages of Compers News in 2013

As always, Compers News was there to report on some wonderful wins as the months rolled by last year…

January

Our first issue of 2013 had an unusual front cover, themed around compers publications over history, and so didn't include the usual winning stories.

Inside though, Kat, of Compers News' diary team Helen and Kat, was reflecting on 2012, and the prizes it had brought, such as a trip to a polo match. Her vivid description was a treat!

February

It was back to business as usual on the February cover, with the mag giving word of winners' good news, like a Nile cruise win, for example!

March

March's cover reported that an Australian holiday was among members' recent wins.

Inside, Solihull's Karen Bond told the mag about winning a Walkers Crisp comp and taking Matthew, her son, to a Barcelona vs Atletico de Madrid football match. She discovered the comp on Chatterbox!

April

The big cover story for April had a chocolate-tastic theme, and reported on Sue Mackinnon bagging a £1,500 holiday from Lindt.

Kevin Francis, Sue's Compers News member boyfriend, told the mag about the win, and a cover shot saw Sue beaming, with a Lindt gold bunny in her hand…

Other wins featured on the cover included Sony gadgets, a Mexican holiday and more!

One of the wins inside the mag was reported to us by Braintree's Melissa Cannon, who had bagged 165 boxes of Cheerios breakfast cereal in a Facebook comp during 2012, as well as Love2Shop vouchers to the value of £150.

May

In the pages of May's edition of the mag, Plymouth's Katie Bennett was one of the people whose prize experience we printed. She wrote of her Las Vegas holiday win, in a Just Eat Facebook comp.

The top story on our front page was about Angie Reynold, who got a Fiat Panda car in a Compers News competition. A Canes break and Mini One were two of the prizes we reported on the cover, after Compers News members told us about them.

June

Page one brought a story from Trish Ainscough, about the prize she'd won for her son - a training experience with Mo Farah in Oregon USA - in a Lucozade comp.

Meanwhile, an Orient Express experience was among the prizes members had given word of recently, as also reported on the cover.

Within, we printed an email from Sue Tivey, in which she'd written about her Woman's Weekly comp prize of a South African Safari.

July

The year was past its halfway point, and stories about wins kept coming…

Chorley's Marion Whittaker was in touch to let us know that she'd recently won things like a cottage stay and Outdoor Living items to the value of £1,000.

Gabriella Smith earned herself a front page slot by telling us about a greenhouse win that sadly came shortly after her husband's death but had played a part in bringing about a therapeutic garden project for Gabriella.

August

One winner to hit our pages in August was cover star Nicky Williams, who told us she had decided to return to comping, following a period away from the hobby after "life got in the way".

She'd been inspired to start comping again after looking through mementoes of past wins.

More recent winners who'd contacted us has bagged prizes like a £2,500 holiday voucher and a £4,000 hotel break.

September

One win we featured in September was Wakefield's Jane Richardson, who told us she'd got her hands on a Nestle Eurocamp holiday comp prize of a French holiday!

On the cover, we reported on Anne Lee and Chris Reid, both Compers News members, telling us about a Coronation Festival invite they had managed to win.

October

October's comp stories included a win from Trudy Jolly, who revealed details of a Goodwood VIP Experience she had recently got her hands on, featuring a flying lesson!

A Peru holiday was among the prizes we reported that members had won recently elsewhere on our front page.

November

There was a culinary comp win on the front of November's issue, with Thelma Winyard reporting back on a Belfast break she'd won having created a bruschetta dish in a Paul Rankin Irish Soda Bread comp.

December

December barely seems like a week ago - oh just a sec, it was! Still, it's nice to think back to that issue, which sported a special gold coloured front cover, which reported on member wins like a Lapland holiday!
