Something For The Weekend - Win 50 x £3,000 Holidays with Isla Negra Wines

Hello again compers!  How was your week, any nice wins to report?  No new wins here, but been a busy one for me with work and school commitments.  I have had a good couple of productive comping sessions this week though – thanks to the plethora of live football on the TV haha.  I have been making a real concerted effort to mix up my comping – focusing much more on holidays, cash and vouchers, email entries, trying to find good creative comps and entering the puzzle magazine comps too.  How about you, have you had a rethink about how you comp this year, and are you seeing results yet?  I am not doing anywhere near as many social media and blog comps, so haven’t had as many little wins this month as I would have usually, but I am hoping that the refocus of my time will start to pay off as the bigger comps start to end!

As you all probably know by now I am desperate to win a holiday this year!  It bugs me that I have never, ever managed to win even just a night away in my years of comping!  I have only been seriously comping for a few years, but I would have hoped to have scooped at least one holiday related prize by now!  We won’t be able to afford to go away this year probably, so winning one is my best hope at present!  When I do the shopping this week I am planning to keep my eyes peeled for the promotional bottles of Isla Negra wine that are around at the moment.  They are giving away 50 x dream holidays worth £3,000!  To enter you need to find a bottle of Isla Negra wine with a promotional neck collar, and enter the unique code from it online at http://www.myislanegra.co.uk/.  You may only use each code once, but there is no limit to how many codes you can enter.  Remember to retain the neck collar and your receipt, in case you win.  There are 50 randomly pre-defined winning codes, and winners will be notified by email if they have won.  All non-winning entries will also be given the chance to go into the prize draw to win a further £3,000 by playing the Beach game at the website.  The prize will be paid in cash via bank transfer, and I am sure you can think of lots of lovely holiday ideas to spend it on – I know I can!  Think I would take my family back to Salou in Spain again as we did a few years back – sunshine, beaches, buffets, a few cocktails, PortAventura theme park, water parks – sounds like heaven to me!  How about you, what kind of holiday would you book?  The comp closes at midnight on 29th February 2015, so keep your eyes peeled for the wine this weekend, and you could be drinking a bottle in the sun!

If like me you are trying to win that big summer holiday this year, here are some other fab comps to enter this weekend:

  • How about something more traditional – a 1 week holiday to Cyprus for 2!  Enter the Summer is Cyprus weekly competition on Facebook and you could be jetting off to the sun this summer.  Simply Like the Facebook page and identify the hotel in the picture (Our advice - Alexander the Great Beach Hotel, Paphos) by midnight on 18th January 2014.

  • Looking to bag an adventurous luxury, family holiday – this could be the one for you!  In conjunction with Journey South America and the new Paddington Movie, the Peru website are giving away an 8 night holiday for a family of 4 to Peru including flights, accommodation and excursions,.  To enter visit the website and enter your details by midnight on 31st January 2015, and it could be marmalade sandwiches all round!

Hi Kirsty
I am having a pretty good January, all in all. I won cinema tickets for Vue cinemas with Dairylea on Wednesday but then decided to give the kids a treat day today as I was concerned that Paddington would be gone before the tickets arrived. Never too sure how Adam will react to things but he thought Paddington was great and got really engrossed in it. Only slight hiccup was when the adverts started and the surround sound came on, he didn't like that. We think he must have very sensitive hearing and it WAS very loud.
Anyway, after Paddington we had to go across to the Post Office to send a parcel for the business. Adam and Rachel chose comics, Rachel carefully choosing the Charlie and Lola comic with a comp in - that's my girl!
Then we went to Frankie and Benny's. My strategy was that they could look at the comics while they waited for food. So no wins used on this trip, meaning it cost nearly £50 - but we enjoyed it and next time we will have the dairylea tickets so the pictures will be free.
Rachel is definitely a comper in the making; after entering lots of the Channel 5 Milkshake competitions she asked me what a runner up was. I explained this and then she was rather miffed, saying 'Well, I haven't been the winner OR the runner up.'
As it happened I had had an email from The Sparkle Club promising prizes if you could find the fairy on their website. Well. she thought that was great so we looked for the fairy and found it on the second page of the tiaras page. Even better, she got an email to say that she was the lucky runner up and would be getting a bag of fairy goodies. Tbh, I don't remember any runner up prize being mentioned but maybe there was, the comp had gone when I tried to go back and look.
Anyway, on Thursday I had to go to the Post Office and collect a parcel. I thought this must be Rachel's prize though it did seem a rather big heavy box and it did have my name on it - but I had put Rachel's name, c/o my name so I thought that was maybe why.
Anyway, in the box was a chromatic gold hairdryer and straighteners - a rather good runner up prize. Rachel was really disappointed but the next day a box turned up and this WAS full of fairy goodies, a green cat purse, little purple handbag, fairy hair clips, hair bobbles. She was thrilled. When I looked up the hairdryer and straighteners on chatterbox I think I MIGHT have won it from Love It magazine but not sure as my name isn't down as 'liking' which I always do when I enter Mag Ex comps. Anyway, it's a lovely prize.
Thursday was also our January comp meet - we had bought things for each other when they were on sale in limited places and people came in with suitcases full of V8 (Waitrose), Peter's Pasties and Mars products (Murco text comp) so there was a lot of cash flying about between us. I'm sure the Wetherspoons staff at the Metrocentre think we're a bunch of nutters.
One member in our group said that she really wanted to see Kingsman and a link to a comp/giveaway came on twitter - a few of us have managed to get tickets for Monday so we'll see each other again there, which is great.
It took me 17 years to win any kind of trip away and the first one I won - a minibreak to Dublin with The People - came at a lovely time, just as I was recovering from having my appendix out in 2009 and starting to be well enough to enjoy life again.
Since then I have won several short breaks - including vouchers for Red Letter days or Buyagift which I have used for breaks.
Still not so fussed on twitter, for me it's a waste of time as far as comping goes and I don't want to join Facebook.
This year I have won our big holiday (well, won last year) but no short breaks yet. Will I do it......?
Good luck with your own quest - and try Pizza Hut, they tend to have a monthly comp this one closes 1st Feb.

HI Kathryn sorry fir the delay in replying, I don't know where the weeks are going at the moment! sounds like January is turning into quite a nice one for you, well done! Paddington looks great, do keep meaning to take the kids to see that. We were going to go before Christmas but the timings didn't work, so we saw Get Santa instead which was very good. All a bit of a whirlwind of work and school commitments at the mo. My youngest turns 5 on 1st Feb and my eldest goes away on her residential on 11th feb, so lots to get organised in between! Trying to get some comping in around the edges, plus working out every day so not doing very well juggling everything at the mo, still, we plod on haha. Keep up and the good work and chat soon xx
