WIN a Movie Night Prize Pack (CLOSED)

Hello again compers!  How is your week going, any nice wins to report?  I managed to win a nice toiletry bag from the Air France instant win (perfect for the eldest’s residential trip away in February), and my hubby had a win this week too!  He won a case of Tyrrells Crisps on their instant win – just in time for the festive season!  How are your Christmas plans going?  Coming along nicely here – ordered all the cards and wrapping paper this week and a few bits to make our girls’ bedroom look festive.  When do you start to get the house ready for Christmas?  Usually 1st December for us, but as that is a (ridiculously busy) school and work Monday this year, we will be decorating the girls’ bedroom on Friday ready for them to come home to from school, and the tree etc will go up this weekend – all very exciting!  I think it is nice to try and eek Christmas out, get as much enjoyment out of it as possible for as long as possible – but there are certain things I like to hold back until nearer the time.  We have a big stack of Christmas books that we try and keep until 1st December – no one has read one yet this year so the anticipation is killing the children!  We have certain films that we don’t watch until; December ether.  Do you have any traditions on what you do over Christmas and when?

Christmas in our house revolves around food, stories, music and movies.  We are huge festive film fans here – everything from the classics like It’s a Wonderful life and White Christmas, via The Muppet Christmas Carol and Home Alone and through to modern classics such as Arthur Christmas and Elf.  We love to have Family Film Nights too – dim the lights, guide the children to their seats (recliner sofa with legs up) via torches bowls of snacks and drinks with straws and all snuggle up to watch a family blockbuster.  How about you, are you movie lovers in your house?  If the answer is “yes” you will LOVE this month’s competition exclusive to Compers News members!  We are giving away a Movie Night Prize Pack consisting of a Retro Mini Hot Air Popcorn Maker, plus a £25 Amazon voucher for you to spend on a new DVD or two to add to the collection.  All you need to do to enter is be logged into your Compers News account and leave me a blog comment telling me what you favourite movie of all time is!  For me that is a really tough question but it would probably be It’s a Wonderful Life, The Pursuit of Happyness or Rebecca – all fabulous in their own right!  The competition closes at 23:59 on 2nd December 2014, so get your thinking caps on and you could be enjoying Family Film Night at your house soon!

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Kirsty x

Who's Harry Crumb?

My favourite has to be Notting Hill. I know it inside out but never tire of it or the music.

Blade Runner. 30th anniversary packs have just appeared on Blu-ray - in time for Christmas!

sweet home alabama - always watch this at christmas

Casablanca - with all those classic lines. It's hard to beat!

I could watch The Shawshank Redemption any time and now both of my boys love it too. A rare event, liking the same film as mum and one that is soooo old!

I Love Pretty Woman for the music as much as the happy ending

Love Actually- it's super cheesy, cliched and ultra unrealistic but I just love it and we always watch it on Christmas Eve.

We always watch Dr Who on Christmas Day, I don't tend to watch it otherwise but at least the house goes quiet for an hour! thanks x

Top Gun - classic film!

Mine is Nottinghill. A good british feel good film

My favourite film is Dirty Dancing, I love the music and the dance moves. Many thanks for the comp.

Strictly Ballroom for me. Always raises a smile with the over the top costumes and make up.

Mystery Alaska. It is a really hard question but this is a feel good film we have watched several times, I love it.

For me it has to be Mamma Mia - I have seen this movie so many times but it just leaves me feeling happy whatever mood I was in at the beginning. My granddaughters love it too and I can't think of anything better than baby sitting with them and all singing along to the music

jnette

Every time I watch this I still jump. My favourite of all time is "JAWS"

Jaws - its the ultimate scary movie which still makes me jump

Its quite an old one but it would have to be Stargate.

Batteries not included. Love it x

This competition is now closed, thanks for all your entries! A winner will be chosen and announced shortly. Kirsty x
