Something For The Weekend - Win Headphones with Sennheiser on Instagram

Hello again compers!  How was your week, any nice wins to report?  Nothing new here since last time, but still thoroughly enjoying being back in the comping game properly.  I have a few creative photo and video comps lined up for this weekend – always a good activity to get the children and husband involved in!  I have decided that one of my comping missions, besides winning all the bits and bobs already on my Wish List, is to try and win a trip to Lapland before my children are too old to properly enjoy the magic of it.  My eldest is 8 so I am up against it time-wise, but I live in hope that it can be done.  If anyone sees any Lapland comps, please do let me know!  What is on your comping wish list at the mo?

Are you finding that you need to try new tactics and techniques all the time, to keep your comping fresh and to make sure you are entering as many different types of comps as possible?  For me, the latest comping revelation has been Instagram.  I have resisted getting involved in Instagram comps, simply because I didn’t know what on Earth I was doing, and the thought of having to train myself in it scared me.  But, after watching a few useful videos on YoutTube, and chatting with some of my comping friends, I took the plunge and dived in head first with entering as many as I could.  I haven’t had any Instagram wins yet, but at least I have a chance now I am actually in the comps!  What new comping techniques and methods have you learnt recently?

One of the great current Instagram competitions at the moment is being run by Sennheiser, to win one of 500 pairs of their Urbanite headphones!  To enter this comp you need to take a selfie of your ear – yes, you read that correctly, Sennheiser want to see your ears!  Take a creative photo of your lovely lobes, and upload it to Instagram tagging in @sennheiserurbanite and #earlove, and 50 of the best will be chosen every week to receive a pair of these sought after headphones!  The Ts & Cs say that the following criteria will be taken into account when judging the photos – sex appeal, integrity, posture, gumption, political correctness, talent, humour, intensity, humility, fitness, creativity, cosmopolitan and that special something!  I am not sure how you use your ears to fulfil some of these criteria elements, but it is worth a shot!  You can enter multiple times, and the closing date is 30th November 2014.  Winners will be contacted via direct message in Instagram, so get snapping!

If you fancy getting your hands on some fab technological prizes, here are a few more comps for you to enter this weekend:

  • Comping could be even easier if you had a new Macbook Air to do it on, couldn’t it?  Make sure you enter the Daily Star competition this weekend, and you could be winning one!  To enter simply enter your details at the website by 23:45 on 20th October 2014, and you could be comping in style!
  • Are you still listening to your favourite radio station on an old, analogue radio?  Maybe you need to upgrade to a shiny new Goodmans DAB digital radio!  The A Mummy Too blog are giving you away, and all you need to do is enter via the Rafflecopter form (Twitter is a mandatory field), by 20:00 on 28th October 2014.
  • Is an iPad Mini on your wish list?  The Telegraph have a great competition to win one of 3 16GB iPad Minis, and all you need to do is visit the website and enter your details!  Entries close midnight on 31st October 2014, so get entering!
  • How about listening to your favourite music on a sparkling new home audio package from Currys PC World?  Classic FM are giving away a Bose home audio package including Bose soundtouch 20 and Bose soundtouch 30 wifi music systems and a Bose soundtouch portable!  To enter register or log in at the website and answer the question (Our advice – Sting) by 23:59 on 9th November 2014.
  • Fancy watching all the great Christmas programmes on a brand new Panasonic Viera 47” TV, worth £750?  Yes, I would too!  At Home magazine are giving one away, and to enter you just need to answer the question (Our advice – Air) and enter your details on the site by midnight on 31st November 2014.

Happy weekend comping (and shopping!) everyone, and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Hi Kirsty

No wins at all to report here for the whole of October - really busy at work and various meetings to do with my older child who has Autism Spectrum Disorder. He's in Year 6 so the issue is where he goes after primary school. It's partly because of him that I value my privacy and I'm not too keen on sharing photos of my family and children - though actually he's really photogenic!

Thankfully, though, he loves travel and is excited that we are off to Alton Towers over half term with those tickets I won. Tried to tie it up with another prize of a 2 night break I won but we have ended up going for a Travelodge in Rugeley (£95 for 2 nights).

The 2 night break is going to be to the Crowne Plaza hotel in Nottingham with my mum in November. After that, I have no prizes in hand. The voucher basket is empty!

Have caught up with the Magazine Exchange this weekend at least so hopefully that will yield results. The only other thing I received was a £5 gift card for being a regular customer of the Toby carvery nearby. I thought that was great, especially in view of their current comp to win a trip to Lapland when you buy fruit shoot. Unfortunately, I looked at it on my phone when I was in the toilets at work and when I picked my phone up again my thumb hit the delete button! Well, it's not retrievable from my iphone. Tried every way I knew and even rang the Toby to see if they could re-issue it (a friend's idea). He said it was issued centrally but he would see what he could do.
I think I was partly so disappointed because of not winning anything this month.

That's the only Lapland comp I've seen, Kirsty - I would love to win it too.

It was the meeting of my competitions group on Thursday and I did feel a bit more inspired, especially as one person had already won on the velvet tissues - £500 Love2shop vouchers. I got 2 free cinema tickets also as somebody had won them from Richmond meatballs and wasn't going to have time to use them, so another little treat for my mum and I (she does have my 2 quite a lot in school holidays, bless her).
Anyway. Onwards. Upwards. Good Luck!

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn, was just wondering if I might get a comment from you sometime this week - where is October going?? It can't possibly be half term already next week! Not to worry about your lack of wins in October, I think it is a rough month for everyone. I hope you get some good advice and answers about your son's school, it must be a very difficult and unsettling time for you both.

How lovely to be off to Alton Towers though, I bet that wil be a great family trip. And your mum will love your treats with her too. I have quite a few bits squirrelled away for my mum too - she turns 65 on Christmas day so want to make a bit of a fuss of her.

October hasn't been all that bad really for wins - won a few nice bits including a Jimmy Choo perfume (Perfume Shop comp), £100 of Smiggle stationery (Closer magazine click to win), a BodyBlade fitness device (QVC twitter comp), a £20 Currys voucher (twitter party), and a Stand up to cancer t-shirt (twitter comp) along with a few other bits.

Thanks for the Lapland tip too, will have a mooch at that one. Am desperate to take my kids if I can - feel like I am on borrowed time with my 8 year old, She is a very young and naïve 8 year old, but it only takes a few more mature friends to start putting doubt in her mind. Anyway, me and my hubby both know Santa is real, so we will keep the magic as long as we can.

Hope you get lots of lovely comps in the rest of the month love - sending over some Luck y Dust

Kirsty xx
