Puzzling for Prizes

Hello again compers!  How is your week going - any nice wins to report?  Two small wins for me on Friday (a Forever Friends keyring on twitter, and an Aloe Vera gel from Holland & Barrett on Facebook), but nothing since.  Not far off the end of month comps now though, so having some nice comping sessions in the evenings.  Has the weather been cooler where you are this week?  It has felt decidedly fresher on the morning school runs here, but to be honest I am quite pleased.  I am enjoying the cooler evenings too – so much more cosy to snuggle up on the sofa on a chillier evening, watching a good movie together, or enjoying a well-loved book.  What do you like to do on chillier evenings?

Being visually impaired, one thing I used to really miss doing was puzzles in puzzle books – you know the sort of thing, word searches, kriss kross and crosswords.  Since developing glaucoma 4 years ago I find I just can’t manage to do puzzles in magazines like I used to, and the app versions on iPad don’t usually offer anything in the way of incentive / prize.  Imagine my delight when I discovered the Compers News in-magazine puzzles, which I could access via the digital edition as well as the print copy!  I can now blow up the puzzles as much as I like on the iPad, and then fill them in on the paper copy.  Here I had a ready-made, good variety of all my favourite puzzles, enough to keep me busy for ages.  Of course I can't actually enter these puzzles, but you can!  Do you do the in-magazine puzzles offered in Compers News, you really should!  By spending some enjoyable time filling out our selection of crosswords, word searches, radial puzzles and sudoku problems, you could be winning cash, book vouchers and even second class stamps to help with your comping!  It is well worth spending an evening going through the puzzles on offer, and entering via the entry slip in the printed magazine – you could win some lovely prizes for your efforts!

Happy comping (And puzzling!) everyone, and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!
