Something For The Weekend - Nothing But Fun Every Day

Hello again happy compers!  How has your week been, any nice new wins to report?  My August spreadsheet now stands at 10 prizes overall – better than the 6 that it was a week ago!  No big wins at all this month, just a few instant wins (mystery prizes until they come), a tea-light holder, some loom bands and some cereal bars really!  Ah well, can’t moan, all useful items that will benefit the family in some way.  Quite glad to be on the home stretch to school now though - we are away at the moment visiting relatives on the mainland, but once we get back we will only have a few days left before school goes back – hurrah!

One of the last treats we have left planned for the summer is a cinema trip, using the Cineworld Movies for Juniors £1.50 tickets offer.  It makes an inexpensive day out for the family, costing just £6 for our tickets and then some sweets and a few bottles of water to make the full experience.  Cinema trips are perfect for wet days too, something we have had plenty of the last week or so!  When we go to the cinema we like to buy big sharing bags of sweets, rather than popcorn – popcorn always seems just a novelty and always gets wasted.

When I am shopping for our cinema sweets I will be looking out for the promotional packs of Maynards, Bassetts and The Natural Confectionary company sweet bags, so I can enter their Nothing But Fun Every Day competition!  By purchasing a promotional packet of sweets you will get a unique 8 digit code, printed on the pack sticker.  You will need to enter this code online to find out if you are an instant winner of 1 of 133 guaranteed prizes.  The prizes are split into 3 tiers (max £1,500, max £150 and max £50) ranging from huge home cinema packages and Disneyland Paris family weekends, to trampolines, karting experiences and indoor scuba diving experiences for 2.  If you aren’t an instant winner, you will still be entered into the draw to win a further 7,067 prizes split into the same category brackets.  You can enter a maximum of 2 times per day,  and the main promotion runs until 23:59 on 4th October 2014.  There will also be a wrap up draw on 31st May 2015 for all entries between 5th October 2014 to 30th May 2015.  So, there are plenty of opportunities to win, so grab a promotional bag and get winning!

If you would like to win some more “fun” this weekend, here are some other competitions you may like to enter:

  • Wouldn’t a trip to Woburn Safari Park make a fun family day out?  How about a VIP Safari Adventure while you are there? If you were to win the First Capital Connect Travelogue competition on Facebook, you and your guests could be having a 1.5 hour VIP off-road safari experience at the park, which is home to over 80 species of animals including lions, tigers and bears (oh my!)  Enter by liking the Facebook page and entering you details on the app by midday on 31st August 2014 for a chance to win.
  • Do you fancy yourself as the next Tina Turner or David Lee Roth?  Then maybe winning a place at the next Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas would help hone your skills!  Enter the competition being run by BA High Life, and you could be living the dream (worth £6,000) in October 2014!  To enter create a 6 second Vine video (using the hashtags #britishairways and #rocknrollcamp) showing them why you are worthy of lessons from the star, such as Roger Daltrey!  Entries close at 23:59 on 31st August 2014, and will be judged by a panel including Gene Simmons, so get filming!
  • How about a relaxing night-time cruise at the spectacular Tall Ships Festival in Greenwich, London?  The London Evening Standard are giving away 2 pairs of tickets to enjoy a spectacular cruise on board a  tall ship, and see fireworks light up the River Thames from on deck!  To enter register / login at the website by 23:59 on 3rd September 2014 – what a great experience pup could be enjoying!
  • Fancy a trip to Alton Towers, but want to feel like a celebrity while you are there?  The Daily Star are giving away a VIP trip to the popular theme park, which includes a VIP host to accompany you, unlimited FastTrack passes to all 18 of the most popular rides, all day dining and drinks and an overnight stay at the Alton Towers Hotel!   The package is worth £750 and all you have to do to win is enter your details on their website.  The promotion runs until 25th September 2014,  and you could be riding the coasters like a star!

Have a good weekend my comping VIPs, and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Hm, 8 prizes for me in August. The How to Train Your Dragon box of merchandise was probably the best - though the kids thought the sheets of bubble wrap that came with it were the best thing in it and have been having a whale of a time jumping up and down on them! My son also quite liked the Mars Samba football.

I need to chase up the 2 course meal for 2 at a local restaurant as the magazine tried to email the restaurant to tell them to contact the winner but sent it to me instead. I contacted the magazine who confirmed that I WAS the winner and said the restaurant would be in touch - all this was a couple of weeks ago so I think I'm going to have to get pro-active if I want this meal (I do).

Trying to collect comps for our next comp meeting; had only found the Asda magazine so far but back to work today so visited the local cinema at lunch time to check for comps and got the latest Vue magazine and also a text comp from Wilkinsons.

One lady in our group has already won a Compers News badge; been looking at that thread from time to time but spent last night doing a U2U comp about railway stations at the end of lines. Only got 17/20, I never do very well - someone got the lot right. There were, however, only 9 entrants so the U2U forum is always worth a look as you have a very good chance of winning a prize on it.

I'm not that taken with 'Nothing but fun every day'; saying you have 'won' a 10p off voucher is practically an insult as it would cost more than that to print it - but somebody won a digital camera on it so you never know.

Comping means optimism; I need to start feeling more positive - and hopefully the prizes will follow along then!

Good luck!

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,

Positive thinking is def the way to go sometimes when it comes to winning prizes. If we think we wont ever win, wewont! The U2U comps always looks so good I agree, have only done a few but been so behind in the summer months I WILL get back on the forum properly!

Hope you get a good result with your restaurant win! Still waiting for my first September win, but my eldest doesn't go back unti tomorrow, and my youngest wont start til Monday so still in limbo.

Just been for the girls school haircuts - all looking smart and tidy again now. On I go with blog writing for this week, and then the mammoth label-athon with all the new uniform - joy!

Take care and lots of lucky dust
