Winning in the world of celebs

So who's your favourite famous star? We all have one, be it someone from the world of film, a musician or someone we love off the telly.

It's always a good idea to see, every now and then, whether there's a chance to win something associated with a celeb you like, especially if you're a massive comper!

From official websites, to social media, to search, it's never tricky to track down comps related to stars when they're out there.

For example, if it's a pop star you want to enter a competition about, you might be able to get your hands on concert tickets - which are one of the most commonly seen prizes out there.

Of course, sometimes competition prizes involve actually getting to meet a famous person, which might be even more amazing!

Sometimes, these sorts of prizes really are the sort that you wouldn't have been able to buy, because they're special, one-off chances to meet a star arranged especially for the competition itself.

If there's a famous face you admire and you want to see whether there are any prizes out about them, it's always a good idea to start with Google.

'Win' and then the name of a the celeb you are looking for comps about is always a good search phrase to try.

Stars' official Facebook and Twitter pages are sometimes a place where you can find competitions about them, too.

But remember that stars won't be the only source of comps related to themselves in one way or another.

Magazines, websites and other brands will sometimes run competitions that feature prizes - like merchandise or tickets - which are linked to celebs.

Just to prove that there are often comps with celebs-themed prizes out there, here are just a two of the ones that there's still time to enter at the moment.

If you're a fan of Katherine Jenkins you'll be excited by the first such comp we've spotted today.

Lots of people are massive supporters of this mezzo soprano, who also filmed an episode of Doctor Who a few years back. Yes, for those who remember, she had a major role in a special Christmas edition of the show that hit screens in 2010.

Back in the world she's most famous for, that of music, Katherine is planning a Stoke Poges concert later in the summer.

getbucks and Stoke Park country club, spa and hotel, where the concert is set to be held, have launched this new competition linked to that fact.

If they can answer a Katherine Jenkins-themed question, entrants will stand a chance of winning a pair of tickets to see Katherine live at the event, which is taking place June 29th.

Usually, this is a social media comp (You have to 'Like' Getbucks-UK and send a private message to them on Facebook to take part via this route) which also has a postal entry method.

So if you still prefer the old postcard and stamp entry option, this is one you might well want to try!

Still in the world of music, but let's move on to a rather different genre, and a group who, we would imagine, have fans who are a slightly different age to those who follow Katherine Jenkins, in the main!

One Direction need no introduction, even to those of us who don't tend to listen to their music!

Over on the Capital FM website, you can find a great competition for all 1D fans, with tickets to a pair of concerts from the boys - who first became famous on The X Factor in 2010 and have since gained global superstardom - on offer.

The concert dates involved in the comp are part of an upcoming stadium tour from the five piece, so expect these concerts to be on a grand scale.

There's a question about 1D to answer before you enter, and the site also asks that you become a member.

This competition offers a choice of two concerts you can opt to try and win tickets for. One is happening in Manchester May 31st, the other in London June 7th.

You can see the Terms and Conditions for this comp here for further details.
