Win sports goodies with comping

We're feeling a bit sporty here on the Compers News blog today!

And we predict that, even if you don't hit the gym or the sports field as often as you might like, you'll still find something to enjoy in today's collection of sporty-flavoured competition goodness!

First up: Football fans have been given the chance to get their hands on some special footie boots as part of this new Lucozade Sport competition.

It seems captain of the England football team, Steven Gerrard, has designed some special football footwear.

Now customers can get a chance to win some by using the barcode number on Lucozade Sport packaging as part of the new competition. The closing date for the comp is June 13th this year.

You can find the T&Cs on the website, and they explain that there will also be a final draw for late entries sent in up to July 31st.

In another footy footwear comp, the FourFourTwo football magazine website is currently home to a competition for adidas Primeknit Sambas.

And it may be the biggest sport in the UK, but sports competitions don't only link to football, of course!

If motor racing is more your thing, maybe you'll be interested in this Sky Tickets and Silverstone comp.

Closing May 22nd this year, someone is set to get their hands on a VIP Formula 1 experience in a prize that offers a range of exciting elements. The winner gets a two-person hospitality package for the 2014 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, travel, food vouchers, Kaiser Chiefs concert tickets and more!

Turning our attention elsewhere, the Bodyfit magazine website is currently listing a number of sporty comps - and although a couple require you to have read the magazine, not all of them do. For example, there's a £319 tennis bundle on offer for two winners in one of the current comps.

Meanwhile, the slightly unusual prizes in this London Evening Standard and New Balance comp are free places in The British 10K London Run. The closing date for the comp is April 27th this year, and the prize is likely to runners and joggers.

Comping itself might not be a particularly strenuous activity - but as this round-up proves, it can lead to sporty prizes!

Lots of us like to get active and watch other people take part in sport, so perhaps it's no surprise that sporty comps are popular.

But you don't have to be a massive sports lover to track down sporty-flavoured competitions.

It's simply a case of using your comping skills to search-out comps that you're interested in.

For example, keep your eyes peeled for local comps that are linked to sports clubs or organisations based near you.

And hit Google to search for competitions linked to a sport you're interested in.

We predict it won't take you more than a few moments to find something you like the look of on here. Of course, there are likely to be fewer comps out there for less-popular sports. But it goes without saying that football, for example, attracts lots of comps linked to it in this country.

Of course sport is often about competition - and if you want to add a little bit of a competitive edge to your own comping, why not ask a friend if they want to take part in a little comping race?

You can say that whoever is the first to get a prize - or whoever wins the most prizes in a year -  wins the comping race. This might be a fun way to motivate yourself to enter into lots of competitions and bring up your chances of being a winner!
