It's Easter holiday time!

It's recently been revealed that a massive 1.6 million Brits are going to be going to another country for an Easter break - in news that's sure to have compers desperately searching for the latest chances to win a holiday!

The figure is ABTA's estimate of the number of Brit holidaymakers going abroad between April 18th and April 21st.

It's also been revealed that the top overseas location for these holidaymakers is sunny Spain! Other top spots include Turkey and Tunisia.

Some 370,000 are set to take to the skies from Heathrow Airport alone and another 200,000 from Gatwick Airport during the Easter weekend, according to ABTA.

These airports will see the biggest numbers of departures, but others are also going to be very busy, as will ferry terminals and the channel tunnel, it seems.

It's enough to make any comper want to reach for their copy of Compers News, just to check the Listings File isn't home to any holiday competitions they've missed.

And though it's probably too late to win an actual Easter break now, the weekend could still take on a holiday theme for compers.

If you're not going to actually head away for Easter, why not console yourself by trying your hand at as many holiday comps as you can? You never know, it could lead to a lucky win that will see you be able to look forward to a break some time in the future.

There's a French Riviera break on offer in a competition being promoted by The Telegraph at the moment.

As well as return air travel to Nice, the winner gets some travel money, a luxury hotel stay and more. People have until April 27th to enter.

The competition is celebration of the fact that new film The Love Punch is hitting cinemas on Good Friday. Terms and Conditions can be read here and entry is via online form.

Meanwhile, there's a STA Travel and Jack Wills comp underway until May 4th with a safari holiday as the prize. The T&Cs are available here.

There's an online form to fill-out for those wanting to try their luck on this African holiday comp.

And there's still just about time to enter another competition on The Telegraph website, this time with a holiday in Iceland as the prize. The comp closes on April 17th and ties in with new film Noah.

When it comes to looking for holiday comps, there are some obvious places to start.

Other than Compers News itself, one of first has to be search engine sites.

Most people think of Google first of all, but there are others out there too, of course!

These are probably one of the quickest ways to discover whether there's a holiday comp you'd be interested in out there. And as well as searching for holiday competitions more generally, you can also narrow-down your search.

For example, make sure you add the name of the country that you're looking for to your search term if you want to get a shortcut to finding competitions that are linked to that destination.

Also, you might want to make a list of websites that you know have a link to holidays and that might be likely to run holiday competitions - think travel agents and travel magazine websites.

There are many ways to track down the holiday comps you're after, but one thing's for sure: there are always lots out there.

Holiday comps are one of the most popular and highest profile types of competition, and often attract quite a bit of excitement - understandable given how much many of us enjoy getting a break away!
