Comps can match your hobby

Comping is a great hobby in an of itself - but it can also match-up with your other hobbies. How? Well, because you can enter comps that might let you win a great prize linked to your favourite passtime.

Whether it's pop music or gardening, driving or fashion, you're likely to find comps that match-up with whatever your passions in life are. You might be able to find comps linked to a favorite hobby by searching online or using the great listings from Accolade publications like Compers News and The Prize Finder, for example.

Here are just some of the comps that are out there at the moment, which we've grouped together based on some common hobbies.

Pop music

Most of us love a bit of pop music - and tickets to see bands and acts in concert are a common comp prize that you will be able to find in both national and local level comps. All manner of other prizes linked to pop acts - like merchandise - are also up for grabs on a regular basis.

Last year saw Miley Cyrus cause not a little controversy with her somewhat saucy pop videos. The US star also scored number ones in the UK with her singles We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball.

Capital FM is currently running a comp that could see the winner bag tickets for a London concert from the star.

The gig will be part of a UK tour from the Party in the USA pop princess, set to take place in May next year.

Anyone entering must correctly complete a Miley Cyrus song title and sign-up to become a member of Capital FM if they aren't already.

According to the comp's Terms and conditions, it's set to close January 5th.

Another comp on the same site - which has the same closing date - boasts theprize of London tickets to see another massive US star, Beyonce, who will be at the O2 in the city in March amid a UK and Ireland tour.

Famed for tracks like Halo and If I Were A Boy, Beyonce recently released a new album.

Other great places to look out for music comps include music mags, music-related websites and pop stars' own official websites and social media pages.

Gardening goodies!

Just like music, lots of us love gardening - some of us might even pop on some music while we garden!

There are always plenty of lovely items that could help with your outside space, from new plant pots, to seeds, to a great new barbeque set! And comps could help here…

Gardening publications are a great place to try and seek out this sort of comp, if you're a fan of growing your own and tending to your land.

GardenersWorld.com often features gardening-flavoured comps, for example, and one of its current crop boasts the prize of a pair of Royal Horticultural Society gardening titles.

These are RHS How to Grow Practically Everything and The RHS What Plant Where Encyclopedia, both of which are published by Dorling Kindersley.

Ten winners will each get both books and the closing date is a nice and far off (for now, at least!) January 23rd. There's a rose-related question to answer and a short entry form to fill in.

Kitchen prizes

Just like gardening, there are plenty of cookery-related comps out there most of the time. Whether it's a new pan you're after, or even a trip to a cookery school, you could well find something close to what you have in mind if you know how to seek-out chances to win prizes like a true comper!

Celebrity chef and cook websites are one brilliant place to look for food related comp, as are other sites dedicated to the topic of food, like those linked with food magazines.

The Jamie Oliver website is currently promoting a variety of comps which foodies will love, including one with a January 3rd closing date, which asks people to name the country that inspired a Jamie Oliver Turkey sandwich recipe. There are two prizes of £100 in cash to be won.

This Hellman's promotion could leave you with some cash to spend on something for the kitchen or something entirely different, meaning even non-foodies could fancy entering!
