Tis the season for festive comping, with a range of organisations offering seasonal comps at the moment.
If you're new to comping, now is a great time to give it a go - after all, what better Christmas gift could there be than a great prize?
John Lewis has just given word of a creative comp that will appeal to compers who love music.
It recently launched a 'Reworked' initiative which is encouraging people to do a Lily Allen and perform their own version of the song used in John Lewis' popular Christmas commercial.
You've likely spotted this animated ad about a bear and hare's friendship on TV already this year. It features The Fear singer Lily Allen singing a cover of Somewhere Only We Know by Keane.
The new comp, which has a closing date of December 3rd, lets musicians and singers post videos of themselves performing this song on a special YouTube channel.
Then a panel - Keane included - will choose one entry to be featured in a special edition of the ad presented December 25th on ITV1.
Whoever wins will get to go to London, expenses paid, and lay down their version in a studio, working with Paul Beard, the man who produced Allen's version of Somewhere Only We Know.
"In previous years we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people sending and uploading their versions of songs from our Christmas ads," explained John Lewis marketing director, Craig Inglis.
"This year, with the support of Lily Allen and Keane, we want to give someone a Christmas they’ll never forget - the chance to hear their song on our advert on Christmas Day. Absolutely anybody can take part - we’re really looking forward to seeing the entries come in!"
It's something a little different from a 'put your address on a postcard and cross your fingers that you win' comp, that's for sure.
And it has a really unusual prize - something which can also be said of a Crabbie's Ginger beer comp that is being promoted by The Mirror's Notebook magazine.
One interesting thing about this comp is that people are asked to enter, not on their own behalf, but on behalf of someone they know.
The idea is that people nominate a person who they feel should have a White Christmas 2013. Whoever wins will get a White Christmas on December 23rd, courtesy of artificial snow.
Meanwhile, there's still time to get involved in a great Cath Kidston comp that's underway at the moment, and has a closing date of December 6th.
You can choose five of their products as prizes, four for gifts and one for you.
There are ten chances to win, and if you're a fan of Cath Kidston - or know people who are - this could be a great festive comp to try. You can enter online or in-store.
There's rather longer left before a current F. Hinds Christmas comp comes to a close.
This has been given a December 31st closing date, so if you're looking for a final comping roll of the dice of 2013 come late December, this could be a good one to try!
The top prize is a massive £500 worth of vouchers for the jewellery brand, while five runners up prizes of £100 worth of vouchers are also available.
The question relates to the numbers of F. Hinds stores there are, and the entry form shouldn't take more than a few moments to complete.
Meanwhile, there's only just enough time left to get your name in for a Dairy Diary christmas hamper comp, which closes December 1st this year.
You can enter via the dairydiary.co.uk website, which features a simple question and short entry form.
The prize is a Luxury Silent Night Christmas Hamper or a supermarket voucher worth £50. Entrants agree to be sent email Dairy Diary Newsletters.
Don't hang about, if you want to enter, fill the form in now before you forget and the closing date comes and goes!
